Jonathan Berger, formerly lighting designer, is a Belgian documentary photographer, he's awarding a diploma from « Institut Saint-Luc » in Liège, Belgium. For him, photography is a happy accident. His encounter with Olivier Wéry, lighting designer at « Opera Royal de Wallonnie », is determining. After one year in the I.A.D. sound engineer section, he advises him to take photography courses, closer subject to him.
In September 1998, he assists to the very first course of the year, given by Pascal Damuseau, and it triggered something off in his mind. The photographer will never touch a lightboard again and the professor became his lab printer and friend.
Full time freelance documentary photographer since 2008, after a short time on the movie sets as camera assistant and machinist and a 3 years journey as Content Engineer at www.xdcinema.com (subsidiaries of the Belgian company www.evs.tv specialized in the broadcast low motion pictures), he now devote his full time to production of photography documentaries and multimedia peace's. Last years he focused on South-East Asia, India and U.S.A.
He's based on the river banks of the Meuse into the heart of The Ardent City, from where he's preparing his different reportage subjects.
Also in a documentary style he collaborates with institutions and enterprises of the country and abroad.
